Janneke Margaretha van der Hout

My name is Janneke Margaretha van der Hout being the third child of 5 children and I was born on the 14th October 1987 at Pretoria.

I have matriculated in 2005 at the CR Swart High School in Pretoria.
I completed my B Sc (Plant science) degree in 2008 at University of Pretoria.
Currently I am busy with my B Sc (Hons) in Medicinal Plant Science, also at University of Pretoria.

Nature has always been fascinating and interesting to me. The incredible diversity of flora in South Africa, and the variety of medicinal uses obtained from plants was the main motivation to explore and learn more about plants and there for the specialization in B Sc plant science. The breathtaking microscopic world of the structures and chemicals that function in such precise manner to benefit the health of people and the role it plays in pharmaceutical companies, definitely are disciplines that encourage me to do research about the medicinal
values of plants.

My hobbies are art, hiking, camping and just being outdoors.
